Caracalla, 198-217. Denarius (Silver, 20 mm, 3.28 g, 12 h), Rome, 201-202. ANTONINVS AVGVSTVS Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Caracalla to right. Rev. AETERNIT IMPERI Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Septimius Severus, on left and seen from behind, facing laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Caracalla, on right and seen from behind. BMC 158. Cohen 2. RIC 32b. Very rare and in exceptional condition for the issue. A remarkably attractive and beautifully toned example with three superb portraits. Two tiny flan cracks, otherwise, extremely fine.
